![]() I want to thank the developer for making this available and for being so responsive. I have not yet tried the other possibilities in this Office-type suite, but it looks quite similar to what I am used to in MS. It doesn’t work exactly like Word for the iPad, which I can no longer use due to my iOS, so I anticipate a slight learning curve. This app has many options to change font, text size, and other typical Word type functions, including word count, which is crucial for me. From there, I needed to experiment a bit before finding that it was then possible to single tap at the point I wished to paste text. In addition to the AutoCorrect options, OpenOffice lets you add tables and charts. By tapping the left handle, I was able to open a small menu which includes the option to Copy. Many Mac users rely on Word as much as Windows users do, but there are. Handles appear, which one can drag to encompass more text. After submitting a review, the developer reached out to me and suggested double tapping the text. ![]() But it may be the app I’ve been looking for! Initially, I was unable to select text with my iPad. This may be the app I’ve been looking for!Īdmittedly, I have barely any experience yet with this app, just a short test run. ■ Contact Us paid version includes the following functions. Pages may be a more suitable application for your client. Note that this is not a developers' forum we are all users, just like you. OpenOffice's dictionary works across all environments but Apple's keyboard wouldn't know how to use it. It is unlikely that OpenOffice will add that interface, since it probably wouldn't be applicable to other environments, Linux and Windows. I suspect that the feature needs the application to support a certain interface (Apple's dictionary?) which OpenOffice does not provide. I confirmed that it works in other applications (Notepad, Pages).I have not used this feature myself (until today) but I can confirm that word prediction works in Apple's applications but not in OpenOffice. While the OSK does appear and can be used for typing, the Word Prediction does not appear. The OSK has a word prediction bar at the top, however it does not appear when used with OpenOffice.
